Default BP4W swap into NB2 / Non-VVT into VVT

Looking for some advice on the above as far as wiring it up goes. Here's my sitch:
  • New to me Built BP4W that I got for a steal of a price
  • '02 NB2 Chassis
  • MS3PNP Pro for NB2
I've got the swap complete, but I can't get the car to turn over. It cranks, but doesn't even try/stumble/nothing. I have fuel pressure, but can't confirm spark to the plugs or fuel through the injectors. ANY advice would be super helpful. I've been trying to search this topic on multiple forums, google, hell, I even talked to ChatGPT about it, but it seems this one is too niche.

Things I've done/Tested
  • Extended the wiring for the CAS at the front of the motor.
  • Verified the harness ground and the trans ground are installed
  • Verified fuel pressure in the lines
  • Attempted to verify fuel to the cylinders by trying to start with 1 plug pulled (was not able to smell or see fuel get shot out on compression stroke)
  • Attempted to verify spark with a spark tester (I got nothing, but to be fair, I've literally never been able to test spark working properly even on running motors, i'm dense)
  • Tried the VVT COP setup (the coil on packs on their respective cylinders dont engage with the spark plug)
  • Tried the R8 coils from flow force since they are plug and play with the VVT harness and get nada

Thoughts/Questions
  • I was originally going to use the coils from the BP4W and then as I completed the install decided I didn't want to **** with the wiring on the main harness. So I ended up using the injector 'subharness' that came with the BP4W. Was this a mistake, do I need to swap this out for the VVT subharness?
    • In my head, I could just reuse the standard VVT ignition wiring b/c the MS3 doesn't care about the subharness, but again, I can't confirm spark nor fuel in the cylinders so these things could sparking up a storm and I'm not getting fuel b/c the sub harness isn't compatible with the VVT main harness for some reason.
  • I have some MS3 logs, would that be helpful to post? I noticed that during cranking, on the default gauges screen that it takes at least a half a dozen cranks before the lboxes for "ready' and 'cranking' light up, but even when they do its only momentarily and they turn back off again even though I'm still cranking.

I can add some more flavor to this which is still unresolved.

Issues Found/Resolved?
  • CPS somehow came loose. That got rid of the issue in MS3 where it didn't think it was cranking. After I gapped it properly it seemed to want to stumble into starting, but did not.
  • Used a timing light to make sure my base timing was good and it is.
  • Swapped the fuel injector harness over just in case because I noticed there was an additional 'sensor' or something on it.
  • Checked compression on all cylinders and while it was consistent, it seemed very low at 90 to 95. My battery was extremely low at this point, so I'm guessing that could have been it.
I'm really out of ideas now. Any advice is appreciated.

More things:
  • Checked wiring for the CAS and it seemed solid
  • Swapped the CAS I was using for a spare and nothing changed
  • Was able to use the COPs ignition I had from the VVT motor by simply cutting off part of the rubber grommet, set my ms3 tune back to before the R8 coils and still nothing

Welp, got the motor started, apparently if you have one cam gear installed 120 degrees off the motor doesn't like it.

Dammit, I had a post telling you to check compression, just never pressed "post". Good work though! Sorry we didn't jump in and help more.
