Default bypassing heat exchanger

is there a way to bypass your heat exchanged.. like just routing a tube from that water outless on the side of the block to the back on the inlet? i heard you can over heat or some crap.

You can loop from the inlet to the outlet, but never block flow that would normally go to the heater coil.
