Looks like hardtop thieves are back at it. They attempted to take my hardtop last night in the east side area of san jose. PLease, if you are looking for a hard top and find one for cheap know that is it probably stolen and do not purchase it.
Bolt it with proprietary security bolts. Most likely they will come back. Not sure how to deal with it. Second time this has happened for me. They stole my first top.
You know things are grim in a society when people are willing to steal stuff like this. As my friend's theft prevention stereo was beeping at him a few days ago I was thinking "people don't steal these things anymore, do they?"... I guess they do!
I would combine Acne Talon locks with the security bolts, too easy to grind off the center of the security bolt to remove them. Make it as big of a pain in the *** as possible to take the hardtop off, make sure your insurance covers it if stolen, and hope for the best.

Don't they only have a 300 foot range? I'm not sure they are meant for this purpose.
Apparently things can be located by anyone with the app (location passed to the servers, not the users). So not fool proof, but gives a better hope of finding it. Would be worth the $20, IMO
