Are these good filters? I don't mind buying quantity (I have 2 bikes that use the same filter as the miata, and those bikes are about to get some valvoline in them :gay.

Routinely get high marks from every forum I belong to. One of the best non-super premium (Mobil 1, Amsoil) filters if not the best.

They go for 6.00 each at most auto parts stores.

This number crosses to Suby WRX/STIs too for any multi-car owners with Suby's.

My link is at home (I'm at work), but there was a write-up linked from m.net from a guy who dissected a bunch of oil filters that fit the Miata. His results were interesting, but found that these seemed better than most.

that's what I run... never had any trouble from them. I have noticed a slight pressure decrease over the stock filters though.

Thats funny...I observed the opposite. Could be differences in oil viscosity too perhaps. I use Shell Rotella 15/40 or M1 15/50.
Been using Pure Ones for quite some time. Work great, no issues.

I've never used anything but the Mazda OEM filters and Mobil1 Synth 20w50.

From m.net:

PL14612 : Officially specified Miata filter.
PL14610 : For '95-on V6 Mazda Millenia; longer than PL14612 and thus has larger filtering area; fits comfortably in my '01 with PS/AC.

according to the purolator website the filters are the same except the -10 is .60" longer. (threads, relief valve, etc are all the same)
