That bumper is ugly as ****. I don't know why anyone would get it.

A little birdy told me that the "FM" on the intercooler is actually just the owners initials reversed so everyone knows whos coming.

[QUOTE=AbeFM;220460]Why does that bumper look positively hideous, and the silver one looks good? I could almost go for the silver one. I want more inlet area, and I wouldn't bitch about a place to put driving lights. It IS a little flashy though.

Yeah it's a bit flashy seems you either hate it or don't - but it has good opening for the air, driving lights are a plus too. BTW looks like the main diff in this shot vs Kill Boy is the car is not lowered, this one has a front plate (no such BS in NC), and the car in Kill Boys shot may have been moving pretty fast - down on the suspension even more - some shots he took of my car made it appear lowered but it's not - I was just haulin :-) and he's a friking awsome photographer. If you're ever up there when they're out it's much fun to lead or follow their evo.

Not really directed to you - I had a long convo on the GV stuff with a friend of mine (has uberchargered 10AE and has had several aerodynes etc long standing SCCA) and he hates the gv stuff but then again I liked the look and function. Of the jdm etc bumpers I've seen for NB this one looks clean and not completely out of place with OE skirts.

likewise, i wasn't directing that at you. Just making a statement. But like you said, most the reason i put it on the car was function.

Here's the only car I have driven through the Gap:

That's right: 1986 BMW 528e. $250 of BABE rally gloriousness from last year. Quite a solid car, but slow as all get out!

I actually took this picture, and my house mate is driving the car.

Er, it looks like the opening for the driving lights is a bit different on the two cars? Probably all in my head.

Also, one is a 2001+, and one is a 99-00, the corners in by the headlights are rounder on the newer car. Basically, the silver car has sharper lines. Trying to fit the 00 curves on a design with edges that thin doesn't look as good to me. Give it up and use nice sharp lines like a fighter jet.

Well, i did also have a GV on my 99.... with the large side skirts. I guess a lot of the "correctness" of the look comes from the pic, how low the car is and the wheels...

*don't mind the gap in the 1st pic. The intercooler support sagged and was pushing down on the bumper. I later fixed it!

^^attack of the giant cones!!!

And before i had the intercooler shoved up in there. I think the bumper with no i/c is what makes it look funny too..

I think the headlights on the maroon one make it look funky also.

I'm thinking about it. I Hope to take July and August off again this summer. I'm definately driving out to CO in August, and a trip east would be nice too.

Besides, if I stop in Charlotte, I could expense the trip, since I am considering looking for a consulting gig there.

I've gone the past two years, but I'm undecided about this year. It's a little weird being the only guys under 20... or 30... or 40

I went in 05.. Uh.. There were like, maybe 5 of us under 40.. Still had a blast with the people I went with.

Gonna make it in 09, can't afford it this year... Instead I'm planning a small covert Eureka Springs run. Hard, heavy, and fast... only with the miata this time, not the crotch rocket.
