Default CLR in to flush radiator?

Hey guys,

I want to give my radiator a flush before the next track day. Can I use CLR through the entire system or even just the radiator? If not, are there other magic potions that I can use? Or would it be safer to just use water?

EDIT: Google should come first, I fail.

Can I use CLR to clean out my radiator?

No, CLR should not be used on a car radiator for two reasons. First, CLR may not be compatible with the internal metals of the radiator. Second, it could have adverse effects if the CLR is not rinsed out completely.

If you were to use CLR, I'd only use it in the rad. Not the head. Then flish the rad with water for a few mins afterwards and then flush the whole system with water once you put the rad back in.

Are you thinking it's clogged right now? Getting high temps?

I've had good results with this in radiators that only had distilled water and oem coolant.
