Code 17 from the ECU
OK... well I've been playing with the new blower for about a week or so.... (almost).... But I've also picked up an annoying code 17 out of the ECU (o2 signal not changing in 20 sec) while in "off-boost" conditions. If you change the throttle position, it goes away (as you would expect).
Occasionally especially on cold start, there's a little "bog" feel in off boost too.... I've replaced the O2 -- the original 4 wire was the OEM... and at 11 years old I figured it was on the way out... (2+ years of boost too). I've got a EM Blue, autotune... all wiring for the autotune has been redone... The new 4-wire (universal bosch) was done as per the FM manual... On boost is seems to be OK.... but I'm not 100% certain, since I've been running out of injectors, so I am getting the 305's cleaned next week, while I'm on vacation. Does anybody have any suggestions about what to check? If you put a volt metre on the O2 wires, can you read the "output"? Dave, |
With a voltmeter, when it is warmed up, you should see a voltage cycling from around .20 to .80 at idle. This is from the sensor wire to ground.

Thanks OG... Will check....

OK found the source.... Make one vote for the dumbass award...
The TPS harness is extended with the SC (since the Throttle body is on the back of the blower).... Well I found that one of the wires which had been soldered on lost it's shrink wrap at some point, so it was contacting a metal clamp for the intake hoses.... New O2 probably not required... but It's there now.... Something for people to check though.... Dave, |
