Compression difference between AT/MT?

well since the a/t 1.6 is so disirable ill trade mine straight up for a 1.8......anybody?

So you're goign to swap from a 1.8 to a 1.6? IIRC, there are no differences in comp. on 1.8L motors (BP) as stated above.

If you're in a search for more/safer airflow, buy a 99 head?

I went back and forth with this...I'd hate to put something in that motor that has a bad reputation. I saw praise for the pistons from the subaru crew.

Sorry, it seems I have gotten the wrong idea across lol. To clarify more:

I have a 1.8L in currently, the Miata is of course MT. I also have a 1.8L spare engine out of a AT 94 Miata, they are both BPs, I didnt mean to swap a AT B6 in, I was just trying to figure out if my spare BP which came out of a AT Miata had different cams or pistions.

DropTopDrifter, I do want to eventually get a 99 head, just not quite yet. I still have no EMS or forged goodies haha.
