Default Congrats to Doppelganger - AKA Jennifer

Doppelganger placed second at the Flyin Miata track session for FI Miatas. The only one to beat him was Bob Bundy in a 393 HP FI Miata.

Not sure why he is going by the name of Jennifer, I think it has something to do with an upcoming surgery, maybe he can clarify

Worth noting, , Bob did set a Miata track record that day, so the competition was definately stiff

LoL Steve..you are too much. I thought you were kidding when you said you posted this up on here. Yeah, I got down to a 1:03.100 before Keith decided to spill the blood of Elvis all over the track I probably could have gotten down into the 1:02's....but something about Bob having over 150rwhp more than me might have prevented me from catching his time There is a point where having that much more makes a difference..esp. with a fantastic driver.

Also worth noting, you didn't have to swap in a new transmission before you drove home. So you came out ahead in some ways =P

This is true.. I did drive some 5,400+ miles, came in second at the track and didn't have any mechanical issues. Sounds like a pretty good advertisement for how good these cars can be

The only downside to the trip are the 98 new rock chips on the bumper and some new stress cracks in the clear coat because the state of shitty Illinois decided to make a 8" ramp out of a transition from roadway that was under construction to the finished product. I got airborne 3 times during the trip...once in Lousiana, once in Colorado (rear wheels came off the ground and came down a bit sideways at 70mph..kinda scary) and the final time was in Illinois.

That would really freak me the **** out. How did that happen? Are you lacking suspension travel?

Probably has something to do with a full gas tank and a trunk packed to the brim with luggage/tools/sparetire/misc stuff that probably weighed 200lb along with the fact that I had turned the dampening most of the way down to try to make the long *** trip a bit more comfortable. I've never had any problems like that before....so attribute it to the special conditions of the trip....and the fact that they were HUGE bumps...not little expansion joints.
