COP Failure v2.0
As some might recall I am unable to get a set of COPs working on my v2.2 meagsquirted miata. Today I had some spare time and pulled my friends car in to test them out there. Swapped out the connector and plugged in my harness, installed the coils and mounting bracket. Held my breath after getting in the car then attempted to start. Success, it started up... Then immediately died. Tried again, and again, and again.. Off throttle, on throttle, etc, etc, etc.
Won't run with the coils. His car is 100% stock ECU (well, it has P-P-P-POWERCARD!!) but no aftermarket ignition components at all.
WTF? The coils spark on the bench both manually and WITH megasquirt, spark long enough to START a stock miata... but not maintain running?
On my car w/megasquirt, the coils won't even spark if more than one on teh same channel is plugged in (Ie, if 1/4 are BOTH plugged in, no spark. 1 or 4 alone and it sparks. Same with 2/3)

12 gauge stranded for power and ground, 14 for trigger. Larger than everything which came on the car.
Never tried to adjust the dwell longer.. but they won't make a stock miata run.. They've gotta be bad, right?
