It came out a few months ago.

There are new models of it coming out soon. Larger ssd, larger screen and few other updates.

This little bugger has been on the market for a couple of months, carries a solid-state drive, usb port and a scaled-down Linux distribution.

http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardw...-pc-review.ars

There are a few folks that have already successfully ported Windows onto it, but details on device drivers and compatibility are limited.

Give it another 6-months, then the drive and memory size will have increased enough that Asus will offer one pre-loaded with Windows.

If I hadn't just been given an older (P-III) laptop, this would have been on my purchase list for tuning...

Stop speaking out of your ***.

Your post had zero accurate information.

1. Came out late last year.
2. Word processor? Uh, try fully fuctional laptop.
3. Yes it has USB.
4. Apple has nothing close to this size.

I have one of those. Kinda old now, but still a wicked laptop. Great for school and tuning, only thing you can't do is game.

till you try it and figure out that your fingers press like 2~3 buttons at a time. And i'm a skinny guy. The key board is terrible.

For the price you can get a better used PC.

I wonder if i could use this as a permanent install tunning laptop, for MS it probably pulls alot less wattage than bigger laptops thus allowing me to leave it pluged in to my invertor system full time with out worrying about killing my battery,

In that most everything in it is solid-state, I expect your fans and screen will be the heaviest power consumers...

http://www.fixup.net/tips/l50.htm

They go for less than $100 on Ebay. I had one back in the day for my Haltech and Tec2. Should be good for the MS...

Probably meant what I posted... its almost exactly the size of a VHS tape and has more than enough power to run the MS software, has a serial port natively. Pretty much ideal for a MS tuning laptop and if you look around you can get them for a song. Granted it won't do anything else worth a damn but its so cheap who gives a ****?
