CXracing 52mm Aluminum Radiator review
4 Attachment(s)
Bit the bullet and purchased the CXracing radiator, thought I'd write a review for people thinking of doing the same.
The radiator fits very well. By very well, I mean it went into place with relative ease and all the mounts are 100% spot on. It is, however, monstrously large (obviously). The upper radiator hose pinches on the charge pipe, though my pipe routing is laughably bad. The only problem I had with installation is that the lower radiator mount's holes were not big enough. Five minutes with the drill took care of that though, no big deal. This radiator cools phenomenally. Sat still until temps hit 200 (According to TS). After 1 mile of driving, temp was down to 186 where it sat. Has NO problems at idle or at speed. 30 seconds with the fan on brings it down from 200 to 193ish degrees. I cannot comment on the fan mounts since I am running an aftermarket fan (Bought it from a friend. Unknown brand, was simply labeled "aftermarket puller fan). I just built some custom fan mounts out of a piece of closet and some bolts I had lying around. Based on the quality of this thing and how well it fit though, I would assume that they're just fine as well. I would go so far as to say I would pay 200 for this thing. |
I have it too So much cheap win. Slave for me ye chinamen!

Mines worked great for years, Its been through a lot too, its bent all to heck from 2010 MC at Infineon when I lost my rad scoop under the car and it crushed into the rad. But still no leaks to this day.

I've run mine for the last 2 years. With slim fans and shrouding around fans....
Only 1 fan ever has to turn on. |

Only 1 fan ever has to turn on. I'm looking for a package kit. I don't want to DIY because I will make it look like suck. |

Hmm is that one much better than the mishimoto package?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MISHI...Q5fAccessories It's more $$$! The link you put up is the shrouding only for $185.00 ninja edit: the bolt up locations on the michimoto one doesn't look like it would match up to the cxracing rad. |
So rider, when are we going to meet up? :P

You don't want that shroud if your tracking the car. I made a shroud out of plastic and the car immediately overheated. I took it off, zip tied on one fan and it was back to 190*f for the entire 98*f ambient session.

I dont run a fan at all, the only time I've had a problem was a red flag and all cars stopped on the track, I have everything sealed so all the air from the front goes through the IC, oil Cooler, then the rad.

Makes sense, that shroud is blocking off a lot of air flow and basically forcing it through a smaller opening.
The first time I ran the ducting on the orifice at TWS it blew out the rivets in the plastic at ~150mph, lol. |
Where did you get the radiator for $130? I don't see any on ebay.
