Dash Gauge Choices

I currently have a AFR gauge (not hooked up), boost gauge, and an intercooler temperature gauge. The first and third being pretty much useless to me. Do to my recent overheating issues I've been wanting to get a Water Temperature gauge.

I did a search and found almost nothing. I was curious as to what everyone runs as far as...

Brand (who is reliable, who is not?)
Half or Full Sweep (Do Half Sweeps suffice or is it better to get full sweep?)
Mechanical or Electrical
Analog or Digital (are digital hard to read in sun with top down?)
What gauges do you have in your dash, which do you find the most important?

how is AFR useless? hook it up, its one of the most important gauges. And LOL at intercooler temp gauge. Might as well run a blinker fluid gauge:giggle:

I've heard good opinions about omori

I have Prosport is very consistent with what I see on MS.

Intercooler temperature. Interior Crocodile?

Do you mean IAT intake air temperature?

I am running or soon will be

AFR (soon)
Water temp
Oil temp (soon)
Oil pressure
EGT
boozt
knock

Previous owner installed the gauges, they're from TDR. The AFR one was disconnected when the previous owner installed the Hydra Nemesis EMS, or at least that is what we assumed. @ blinker fluid.

It really depends on how much you can spend. I mean Defi gauges are real nice, but $$$$

I definitely keep the AFR gauge. Going to a gauge style WBo2 setup is the only positive thing from my non-gauge style crapping out.

Then I have boost gauge, I now have a third slot that needs to be filled. IMO an IAT gauge is useless accept for knowing outside temp when I get in the car.

I've heard that the OP gauge on the early miatas are pretty good. Oil temp or coolant temp would be my choices

Well everyone thinks what they run is best but my setup is bestest. I have a PLX DM-100 setup so my oil pressure, oil temp, water temp will make my gauge flash when shit exceeds my thresholds. Mad neato. AFR will be on the screen full time, but if say my oil pan rips off my gauge will start flashing because of zero oil pressure. 4 gauges in one for the win.

I do have mechanical boost and EGT though. Why? Mechanical boost is super cheap and reliable. EGT is dual needle (dual probe) westach and was a lot of money. I would have bought PLX but that shit was not out at the time I got the Westach setup.

I have the stock stuff in my dash. Seriously, check out the plx stuff- you can buy it from a forum member and it is very little $ mroe than piles of conventional gauges.

I'll need to see if I can hook into the existing sensor they were previously using as I agree that a AFR gauge is useful.

Are those PLX gauges easy to see in the daylight with the top down?
