Default Dash wrap

I've been throwing the idea of wrapping my dash in Alcantara for a while and I think I'm ready to pull the trigger and do it. My main reason is the dash is cracked and it's RHD so getting a replacement has been difficult.

I currently have a replacement cover on it now which looks ok. No one even notices it's a cover and not the dash itself. It is held on with 3M double sided tape which has been strong for years.

What I'm planning for the interior is a nice black/tan look. I would be wrapping the upper dash, the front bar that runs across the dash, and the upper portion of the doors. The bottom of the doors and dash would be the regular OE plastic tan they are now. Carpet would be a new black replacement which I can get from Newton. I would not be wrapping the gauge cover or the console/trim.

If anyone has done this before how long did the wrap last? How much material did you use? Did you use the kind with backing or without? Any specific recommendations for adhesives? Are there any decent places online I could order the material? Or should I just find a way to secure the dash cover better and leave it stock looking?
