That's pretty hilarious actually.

Maybe the honda guys were right about dat vtech kickin' in.

Listed finally, but I offered it for sale here late 2015.

We will miss its unholy wail. It has served it's purpose so now we make room for other stupid Miata tricks

Can I return my Xida's if I buy this? I haven't driven on them yet!

In all seriousness if I saw this before I dumped so much money into my current car I'd be all over it. This is exactly the car I'd want to build eventually.

This is a awesome deal. If I had the extra cash and less projects I'd jump on it.

Deviate has a new home outside of Chicago. Some good news and bad news.

Last Sunday I took it out to an autocross. It works pretty good, I almost had FTD even on the RS4's which are good but not great at autox.

Now the bad news. After my last run, I parked it, loaded it up, and attended the trophy presentation. I was going to drive home, but it would not start. I heard a knock from the engine while cranking.

That knock was the timing chain jumping off the exhaust cam.

I don't know yet if the valves are smashed, but the chain is loose. It appears the tensioner loosened up on start up. I still don't know the cause. I need to find a crank pulley tool that will allow me to break the crank bolt and get the ATI Dampener off.

Quick update. I replaced the chain and tensioner with another new OEM ones and it started and ran no problem. The new chain was even quieter, so I suspect the old tensioner was just too loose. I'll keep an eye on it.

I ran gridlife time attack but only ran half the sessions. The external oil pump pulley started walking back and forth on the shaft. The set screws on the pulley needed to be drilled out because they wouldn't budge. It was raining so I went home and brought back my SpecMiata.

She was actually a touch too tail happy. I'm tempted to try different sways (these aren't adjustable) or grippier tires. I like the Hankook's but they probably aren't fastest.

Im currently putting one into my rx7,

Love your build! Dry sump looks sick also interesting about VTC angles on the dyno. did 50deg make most power? Ill go turbo with mine as the FD is a bit heavier than mx5
