was it made from solid 18k or 24k gold?

matthewdesigns 07-12-2012 10:09 PM

Not standard on M Edition. Was an option for the regular models, but who would put an LSD in an auto trans car?

Year

Actually the Torsen was standard on the 1996 M-Edition and most if not all special editions (except the 1997 STO).

But....not on the automatics. Automatic = no LSD. Don't think it was an option on any automatic 1990-1997 (and likely 1999-2005 and even 2006+).

Sorry, but yes, you wasted your money. :(

i have an 03 clutch diff. With carrier. Need pignose.

$600.

You paid twice as much as I did for the same parts, except I got an RX7 housing and one piece NB axles.

Gotta do your research next time, man.

Well then, I stand (sit, actually) corrected. Thanks for the info.

are LSD's really worth that much? i bought a complete straight 97 subframe with LSD, brakes, suspension from a dismantler for $300

svazquez104 07-13-2012 02:33 AM

I'm depressed a $600 rear just might turn into a $1200 rear

A complete swap (driveshaft / TORSEN / axles) is worth between $1000 and $1600, depending on how many are for sale at the time.

I picked up my 4.1 torsen (complete rear) for $200.
axles for $100.
driveshaft for $50.

car-parts.com, use it.

18psi 07-13-2012 10:08 AM

yeah I'm not sure what some people are smoking, but a whole torsen rear usually runs 300-700.....up to max 1k for the really nice MSM or 3.9fd setups......

but some rtards sell them for 1200-1600 and even bigger retards actually pay that kinda money for them, so why not make some good money lol

Braineack 07-13-2012 11:46 AM

If it was the original diff in the car you have a 4.1 open rear.

Edit: If you look through the axle shaft hole and see a metal pin obstructing your view = open. If it looks like either pic below its a Torsen.

I have Torsens available for less than you spent on your open. PM me if you are interested.

I recently bought my complete Torsen type2 setup with axles, drive shaft, lower and upper A arms for $350. Came off a wrecked 7k mile NB. Only problem is the axles were non-abs. And my car has abs!
