Default difference automatic gearbox NA

the story:

from my white NA 1.6 from 1993 the engine was broken, it has driven 260.000km. Now I bought a engine with about 50,000km and a gearbox with about 50.000km. Engine is in and runs really good ... But the gearbox is a different story.

The new gearbox would appear to be a facelift model or something, because the plugs are different and some sensors are in a different place.
Since this is not plug and play , we have temporarily put back the old gearbox.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Slushbox in a Miata, why would you want to do that???? Really??? Get you a stick shift and join the man club.

Well this is my girlfriends car, and she may only drive automatic....

My NBFL is manual gear
