EBay Steering Wheel
So I bought ebay seats that have the "mazdaspeed" logo thing going on..and they turned out to be pretty sweet. So I figure it wouldnt kill me to try the steering wheel.. **** it can't be heavier then the airbag one I already have. I doubt an air bag will really save me in a crash in a miata. Anyone tried the ebay steering wheels or have feedback?

I know a few people who have had ebay wheels. You might get lucky, but the ones ive seen have quite flimsy upper hoops. Even one going so loose that it flopped off.
If you want cheap... pickup a grant or momo montecarlo. I love the grant wheels and they are old/strudy styles. Typically cheap also.

eBAY Steering Wheel
Last month I got a 320mm Bride steering wheel with hub adaper on Ebay. Install was easy and it fits good. I did not hook the horn up since I use my miata primaraly for autox. It does not seem as strong as the factory wheel, but for around $50 I think it was a good deal. Tommorow is the first event with the new wheel.

I've seen one bend! Like if you put forward pressure on the wheel it would bend toward the dash
Not for me, I want my wheel to stay attached under aggressive driving!
Personally I have a Sparco Ring 320mm and LOVE IT. Had it on two different Miatas now for about 2.5 years in the hot nasty FL weather and it still feels and looks like new.
Get what you pay for I suppose

Yeah after reviewing this decision I am probably going to take split's input and find one of the lower end wheels. The only thing I really care about is removing the weight/safety constraint of the airbag.

Yah, i have a grant on my civic and love it. It came with it and its super sturdy and just the right size. Simple and not standoutish.
I've also run a Momo Tuner with happy results, that went with my trackish civic when it sold.
Ive got a momo team (or something similar) now for the miata and it looks like it'll be quite nice also.
Oh and this is on a 93. I used an Ebay adapter, it fit perfectly. Haven't looked at hooking up horn yet though, far far far from a priority.
