Default engine noise

what say you miata doctors?

noise transition is between 10-14 also something funky in between 7-9, even if its not a problem, i'd like to know what causes that.

i'm a genius, and can embed youtube videos:

The engine sounds normal to me.

What I'm wondering is why, when I view that video, one of the "Suggestions" on the sidebar to the right is a video of some dude putting his entire fist into his mouth.

Is there something you'd like to share with us? Something that perhaps you've been afraid to tell anybody else?

crippling loneliness and boredom. you can only ********** while crying so many times in a day.

and it's the transition from 10-14 that concerns me a little bit.

i feel better because i have gotten a few views, and no one has said there is anything wrong with my engine, i am curious as to what could be causing that noise shift though.

Sounds like there could be an exhaust leak, but that's about it.

I don't really hear anything out of place. Enjoy your car instead of stressing over misc noises.

Very weird sound, to me it does not sound as the block or bottom of engine, more like the cylinder head.

Can you post more info like

- since when it started, any smoke coming out of the exhaust, is it only during the morning, when does the sound happen? when cold? all the time?

Very valuable would be a compression test, how is vacuum? pull out the spark plugs see how they look? How is the car running? Any loss of power? and if so when?

Do the classic Sea Foam and see if you can get some improvement.

good luck

Go on the hunt for another cylinder head, if not mistaken Mercury Capri is the same type, only difference is to change the water route plug.

i hear slight valve train knock, what oil are you using? I dont see any problems though, every miata i've seen has the valve knock.

-I'm using 5w30 synthetic

-compression check 5k miles ago all within 175-180, along with oil, filters, plugs.

-The noise is there all the time I think, cold and warm, no smoke to speak of. Idle has a little rythmic breathing to it, and I get a bit of an air noise (maybe belt) when reving up or romping on it a bit.

thicker oil+exhaust gasket+boost?

This is not the first time I've seen you do this, and I have to say, I love it.
