I can tell you roughly where I was when 9/11 happened... about 300 feet and 300kts over northern Alabama doing a low-level training flight... Air Traffic Control went into overdrive and radio back channels were trying to sort out if the whole country was being attacked or just New York. Each generation has it's "moment".

But as for the topic... 30, married, cat.

cincinatti is about 4 hours yeah but i do have a few 1/8mile strips within 30 miles and bowling green about 1 1/4 hours away. with a 1/4 mile track my roads are pretty winedy so i can pretty much dail in my suspension and speed as well yeah the speed limit says 55 but 70is average and i have done 140+ not totally recomended but it works. + there is no way i will pay a grand of ra competition license or 3-400 dollars for a track day that isto much money if it where 500 totall i would probably do it though.

Came form the DSM world (diamond star motors....eclipses, talons, lazers) blew my 97 eclipse's motor and i bought the miata as a DD until i could fix the eclipse.....lets just say the eclipse is now for sale....with a blown engine still, LOL.[/QUOTE]

Funny, my story is almost identical to that. Blew the engine in the Talon, bought the Miata as a daily, etc. Now the Miata is the project in the garage and I have a WRX to beat around in.

Oh yeah, I'm 33.

Just bought my first Miata and love it to death. I'm a Manufacturing and Industrial Technology Major at Tennessee Tech. I'm 20 turning 21 in March. Being a manufacturing major I have access to a very nice machine shop. Hopefully I can save some money that way. This forum is worth its weight in synthetic motoroil and has definitely saved me much headache already.

I will be turning 24 next may, but I do get out of the navy next year, one milestone out of the way. Just got my first miata, originally an american muscle crowd, so the 4 banger needs the turbo. Mwawhawhaw, it should be in on friday, along with the emanage. That should level the playing ground a little, but can't compare to 465hp. No way, but if I get about 340ish hp at the wheels on the miata, should be a bout the same weight to horsepower.

you could do that on stock block i would get a 6 speed and 3.9 or 3.6 torsen as well or a tII swap. then you can run 350+ whp no prob. as far as power to wieght think about it the typical miata weighs 2360 lbs with ac, ps, gas, etc. the typicall mucle car weighs 3300 lbs or more (7.09-1) foxbody mustangs weight 2900 (6.26-1)-3000(6.48-1) lbs at 300 whp a miata= 7.86-1 at 340= 6.94-1 so unless you run into a 500+ whp camaro or 450whp foxbody mustang then you should spank *** pretty hard. at this point you will be very traction limited but with the right tires you will be able to beat anthing off the light and around any corner the miata is very solid, you just have ot learn to work with what we have and almost anything is possible.

if the 465 hp is chp then you would beat even a 2900 lbs foxbody as they would only be putting down 395 whp 7.34-1 just some food for though you arent the only bowtie boy here check my vb garage to see my chevy.

Yeah, the car that I drive now is a 97 camaro that I did the 388 stroker in, ported and polished the heads and dropped a huge cam in. Sounds great and will run damn near anything, just gas mileage sucks ***. If I can find the graphs, I'll post them, but 465rwhp out of that car, so closer to530 hp at the crank with the most efficient drivetrain.

Yeah, that is why I got the miata, now just to get a "few more horsepower" out of the miata.
