Default Expected Cost for Used GT2560 Turbo Kit?

Hi, I've got a stock NA8 miata and am considering upgrading the engine with a turbo. What do you think a fair price would be to pay for a used kit, assuming everything is in good working condition and including these basic parts....

GT2560 Turbo
Manifold & downpipe
Megasquirt
Injectors
Wideband 02 & gauge
Intercooler
Piping, clamps, etc.

Would also upgrade fuel pump and clutch, but don't expect to find as part of a 'kit'

Thanks

F

It depends...

I'd say at least 2k $.

500 - GT2560 Turbo
500 - Manifold & downpipe
500 - Megasquirt
200 - Injectors
150 - Wideband 02 & gauge
100 - Intercooler
300 - Piping, clamps, etc.

I was assuming it would be around $2k, thanks for the feedback. I've seen a few kits with a 2554 for $1,500 but haven't yet seen a 2560 for sale. There are also a few supercharger kits going for about $2k as well. Seems to be the going rate.

Show me the 1500$ "Kit" with a real Garrett 2554R. That is still a very good turbo for a non-built-engine Miata

I don't remember if either was an actual Garrett or not....I'm not sold on the idea of "garrett" only in every situation. For those that don't plan on keeping the vehicle long term I'd bet another brand would be fine. I think many dealers want us to believe Garrett is the only real reliable choice, but I always consider reliability as a term of time. Also I'm price conscious and there seem to be other brands like Mamba that have some good reviews and appear to be less expensive.

Also considered the 2554r, but decided against it because people seemed to think it ran out of power around the 185 to 200 whp range. Apparently the 2560 can fairly easily push 250 whp and still maintain low rpm spool...but that's only from what I've read. No actual real life testing to support that concept.

There are indeed other options without paying big $$$, I'm using Pulsar Turbos and haven't had a problem since switching from a real Garrett.

You can expect a 2554R hit 220whp with a good intercooler and decent tuning, the 2560R will kill your rods eventually at full steam

Good to know, thanks! I'll add Pulsar to the list. Yeah, I figured the 2560r can be mildly pushed and will probably keep torque below 240. But, really depends on what the tuner wants to do.
