Default Factory Front Lip Repair

Hello everyone,

I am currently in the process of painting my 2001 Miata. It's my first experience with any kind of large-scale painting and body work, so I have just been taking it slow and learning from friends/internet/etc. One thing that has been bugging me is this factory front lip spoiler, and I was hoping you all could lend me some advice. It is cracked on the bottom corners of the air vents on both sides. These run along the inside of the vent (not pictured), making them not very flexible and difficult to reach. I'm considering just making sure it is sanded down and being done with it (considering it all is in difficult places to see), but seeing as this is my chance to make this car look as nice as possible, I would like to fix this. So does anyone have any idea how to fix these cracks? Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

With urethane you need to reinforce the back, vee the crack, then fill with flexible filler. Doesn't necessarily need to be 3M based. It's.. kinda a PITA. Flex Filler doesn't sand very well, (it's very crumbly) but if you can do a very very thin coat of glazing putty it'll help smooth out.

Hey I'm sorry for the late response, but thank you! I actually tried this out and it worked amazingly. 3M always impresses me with how well their products work. This stuff mixes into a fairly thick black paste, but then dries like you just patched the bumper cover with liquid.. bumper cover.
