Default Failed Water pump?

Hey guys, Just found a puddle of coolant under my car, it looks like its slowly leaking from the crankshaft pull area and then dribbling back to drip off the oil pan. My car is due for a TB/WP.

The only thing ive done recently is install a knock sensor and at one point i did jack on the oilpan but it wasnt pushing the car up or anything like that so i dont think thats got anyhting to do with it.

I found a few results from a seach that point to waterpump. Ive added a pic with a yellow line showing where the coolant seems to be running.

Look like a WP to you all?

Hard to say. Pull the belt and see if the pulley wiggles. You might have to pull the waterpump pulley and timing belt shroud off for a better visual.

Thanks for the relpy. Ive pulled the VC and started pulling it apart ( first time so im slow ). The car is due for a TB/WP so ill change them now anyway.

I got a look at the bottom of the WP and where it rotates near the block theres some build up of crap so i hope that it is a dead WP and i dont get it together and that not be the issue lol.

Ill post up a pic of what im talking about tonight.

Only other thing it could be on the front of the motor is the front water neck gasket. You could replace that as well while you've got it all apart. You just need to remove the cam gears so that you can take off the plate behind them.

Yeah. Just do the waterpump, and the waterneck gaskets, and that should take care of it.

Might as well do the hoses while you're in there.

Actually, WORD on that! Everyone thinks to check the big hoses, but don't forget the little ones. I overheated a stock motor BIGTIME once because a little hose off the waterneck burst open when I was taking an on ramp in a "spirited" manner. It literally emptied the coolant in the motor in like 15-20sec at like 5k+rpm.
