Does Hard Dog Hard Core M2 fit in NA?
I might be able to pick up a HArd Dog Hard Core M2 bar for cheap. I was wondering if the M2 will fit in the NA Miatas. I need to get a bar for my wifes car so it can go on track as well. The Hard Dog website lists it for NB's but I could swear I have seen it somewhere that they work on NA's too and people like them because they work with the glass tops.

I don't know how I missed that application guide! Ok, so I got the bar for $270! Only downside is that it doesn't have the hardware or backing plates. Does anyone have a bar that is not installed yet that could possibly take a picture of the backing plates? I am mostly interested in the shape of the front plates that go behind the seatbelt area. I can make the plates I just need to know if the front plate is bent to a similar shape as the front mounts on the bar or if it is two pieces.

Close, I am looking for the backing plates underneath the sheetmetal. I was wondering if the front backing plates around the seatbelt reels are bent, but from your picture it looks like the two bolts around te reel itself actuallt bolts to existing mounts. So no backing place is needed. Can someone confirm this? If the other backing plates are all just flat plates with holes in them, I will be golden, those will be easy to make. I really don't want to skimp, but would 1/8 backing plates be enouh? I know the factory ones are 3/16 but they are just there to provide a wider footprint for the mounting areas. Bethania would only charge me $10 a plate so I might just geit it from them if I really needed to. Its just hard to buy simple stuff like that when you have access to a machine shop.
