Well here is a great chance for anyone who likes to push their miata to the edge. My friend Jason (the person helping build my mx-3) is doing a v8 swap into his miata and he wants to build custom strut bars, frame brace (like the flying miata one), a brace to stabalize the control arms, and a few other items. He needs to test these on a miata that doesn't have a v8 so that he can make them and sell them to all miatas he has a NA body so i'm not sure if these items can work on other models. He wants to put these on a car that will see some autox and or drag racing and he would like the person to tell others at shows / races about the items. if anyone in the chicago area would be willing to bring their car over to do the test fits they get the whole set for free. please let me know if anyone is willing to give this a shot

Tell your friend to make a 3 point strut brace, those are the only ones that really work.

I'd go ahead and say that the frame rail reinforcements work as well, as would the butterfly.

I've got the FM frame rails and couldn't feel any difference, maybe the butterfly helps though.

he wants to build the who shebang... even something to tie together the upper and lower control arms i think...

i would think the frame rails would be a little less noticeable than the other supports and braces

Here is the guys site (jason) if you want to check out his monster Miata build. He has some of his fabrication work there that he is doing on his Miata.

I've heard just the opposite from a few people (the frame rails help more than anything else). I have no experience with them, just telling you what I had heard.

Chassis stiffening for a good price will sell like crazy. Keep us updated on his progress. Lot's of buyers for these type of parts as soon as he gets them up and running.
