Default fuel pressure regulators

are after market fuel pressure regulators necessary? i currently have a 1.8L with some work. MOSTLY stock. N/A and the guy i got it from put on a blox FPR on it...whats the point? and what is that stock setting i should have it on? because ive noticed while having one vs stock it takes 4-6 cranks to start the motor and some revs to get it running smooth? vs stock.. start up right away no problems

If you need more fuel pressure than stock or if you're looking to properly control a high-flow fuel pump at idle, an aftermarket regulator is needed. Otherwise, it's not necessary.
