Well i've owned two white NA's (90 that was run off of the interstate by a semi driver that appaarently needed a nap, and a 92 that i for some reasone decided i needed to get rid of) and i am going to pick up my next one tomorrow. It's a BONE stock 91 smurf with 144K, a/c (wil be gone soon) no PS, crank windows, should be good starting point.

Friend of mine just swapped his entire 95R into a smurf w/ hardtop and repainted it...nice cars.

 

This is how the car sits now. After i go to pick it up i will take some better pictures, I still haven't seen it in person yet.

 

OK here's the deal...

the car was two hours away from me. I got off work aat five o'clock, i called the seller at 3:30ish to make sure it was still available, etc... he knew i was coming from two hours away and i told him i would be there right around seven, he assured me he would not sell the car, my cell phone rings at 645 when im turning on to his street after driving damn near two hours this is what i hear when i answer:

"hey we talked about the miata earlier, yea dont bother coming out here i just sold it, bye...."

What a ****** ****.....why do people suck so much f-ing nut?

 

oh yea...if anyone knows of any decent deals on a 1.6 in the virginia area let me know because i am obviously back in the market

 

OK round three,... i got a red '90 with hardtop, 62K miles swiped out from under me since i posted about the smurf....

NOW im on a Black '95, black hardtop, 166K, power windows, steering, mirrors, cruise, a/c, i assume a torsen but havent really verified that yet. It just had the water pump/timing belt changed 10K ago, seems pretty solid and the guy only wants $3,000 for it. I should know for sure by tomorrow whether or not I get it I'll update if i do.

 

Oh yea, forgot to add, i thought the guy's main selling point of the car was pretty funny: "you know you can put a mustang motor in here right?" but the car is completely unmolested so far from what i can tell.

 

Same thing happenned to me when i was looking for my miata. I went to look at a 96 m edition with a hard top and 63k miles. The car was about an hour away. I called and said i was on my way and not to sell it, they agreed. I got there and i saw the guy shaking hands with someone and the car was sold. I was pissed.

 

happened to me two days in a row....two cars, both were just about 2 hour drives....i AM pissed, lol

 

I can't imagine ever NOT having a miata. I'm about to pick up my 2nd one.

 

Why do most people that sell there miata's have to be DICKS!

**** i think he owes me more than that, only person i could get to ride out there with me ws my girlfriend who was at the time babysitting a 12 year old and a 9 year old....it was alot of fun let me tell you....
