Default Going to try a Foamectomy... Hog clip/tool question

What size hog clips and tool should I use to refasten the cushion?

Thanks,
Marcello

I've done it several times and always use zip ties. Seems like it'd be a real PITA to reattach the hog clips and zip ties were cheap, easy, fast, secure.

I'm fine with using zipties, lol

Thanks everyone

I'll do the passenger side first, in case I mess up.

I had to use zip ties too, what a pain in the butt. I will never, as long as I live, do it again.

Did it make the seat less comfortable for you? we are exactly the same weight, so this would help me...

Damn. I'll have to go seat shopping. I am too tall with my helmet on and the roll bar.

I just recently did mine. Zip ties work fine.

For comfort, I need to sculpt the back a bit, but the seat base is comfy for me with just the foam cut from the top. I had cut the bottom lump off as well and that was too much for daily driving, but it will come out for my track day, since that and a bit of lean can get me below the roll bar.

You can drop 1/2" or a bit more by ditching the rear seat mounts and making your own that mount lower

its worth a try if you're bored and if you'll be tossing the seat anyway, just be prepared for it to take a long time lol

+1 to zip ties. I didn't find it too hard tbh, finished in under 2 beers. I found the seat way more comfortable afterwards. I was making weekly routine 10+ hour trips for a few months with it, have yet to find a more comfortable driver's seat in a car.

I'm currently in the process of recovering a set of seats. Zip ties work great. I just cut the old hog clips off with wire cutters.

How much do you weigh? What is your general body size? Like height and waist size, thanks

^that and ball size. I need to make sure I don't squeeze my family jewels between my Italian thighs.

a/s/l?

Success of foamectomie comfort will depend on body. I'm 6'1, 145lbs, 28" waist, 42" chest. Dated much shorter girls with same length legs as me. Buying clothes is a bitch.

Do we sex now?

edit: not quite as big as savington's

Hm, ok, I'm 50 pounds heavier, I'll have to think about it, or just try on the pass seat first.

But yeah, I'll save a room here for you.

6'4" tall, 35" inseam, 33" waist and have foamectomy'd the crap out of my stock seat to get me under the hardtop. Still several inches away from passing broomstick.

+1 for Zip ties. Took a hacksaw blade to sculpt foam and had mine start-to-finish out, cut, and back in car in under two beers.
