Default Good aftermarket carpet?

Anybody installed aftermarket carpet in their car? I'd like something in the original tight loop style, whatever its technical term is. I'd also of course like something that doesn't fit like sloppy *** if at all possible. Something molded with good quality, and hopefully at a reasonable price. Any suggestions? Or can you still get OEM carpet from Mazda for less than the car is worth?

I now regret removing mine and cutting it up. I had planned to retire it to weekend/track duty only, but ---- changed, so I'm stuck daily driving it for at least a while longer.

Why not get used carpet from someone parting out? I see them pop up in the classifieds from time to time. Maybe even on ebay?

Hmmm. 1.6 and 1.8 carpets are the same I would imagine. This might work. Give me a day or two to do more research and think about it.

I think I will bite, but I wasn't planning on a purchase until my next paycheck, which will be next Thursday. Looks like it's been for sale for a while now, so maybe it will still be sitting around then. If so, I'll probably pass $100 your way.

I had the moss extra thick carpet set or whatever its called, was plush and looked nice. Fitment sucked though, you had to do a bunch of work just to make it work, including glueing it everywhere along the trans tunnel.

Just get an OEM take off from the spec guys off ebay, I threw out the moss kit and grabbed one of those for cheap.

nope. 1.6 cars have the ECU under the passengers feet, and a cover over it, thus a shorter footwell.

I do not have a 1.8 car to confirm if the carpet will fit or if there are any differences from the 1.6 to 1.8 car carpets.

Looking back through emails, I bought this in 09 and asked a used part place for carpet that fits a '91. Looks like I paid less than I thought too, could do $75 shipped.

Looking around more, looks like two different carpets are listed for 90-93 vs 94+

Yeah, I forgot about the ECU location, so that is true. I may have to pass up your offer Brad, and look for a 1.8 carpet.

No problem, I'm sure you can find one for a decent price.

I wonder if that is the only difference between the two models. If I knew for sure everything else was the same, I would jump on it still. I could make it work.

I don't have a 1.8 car to test against. If you were local I'd let you take it and try it to see how it fit...
