I even have a NA 1.8 exhaust done and sitting on my shelf, since one person is backing out. So the OP should definitely contact me and ask about it.

As an M45 owner, either MK turbo or read more.and do a TD04 diy setup. That said, the low end grunt with the m45 is nice, but man does it run out of puff up top.

FAKE NEWS!!

I've been researching/comparing turbo kits for the past 3 years, and the MK turbo kit is by far the best for the money. If he had been offering his full kit back when I first started collecting parts, I would have just bought it and been done with it. It's $2250 less than the FM, has a better ECU, uses v-bands, and doesn't require you to mangle your engine bay to fit the turbo. Honestly, I've seen people try to put together a "budget" kit from scratch and still end up paying more than the MK turbo kit due to buying things twice, not to mention the enormous time investment of having to fab things up themselves.

Find me a turbo that will make 7psi at 1500rpm on a 1.6. I need tonwork on my spark map, it pings like crazy if I try to use more than 3psi below 2500 though....

But yeah, that is only good for use in traffic and such when I don't feel like downshifting...

find me a mp45 on a 1.6L making 7psi at 1500rpm...

plus boost level doesnt matter when the mp45 on a 1.6l makes 2hp per psi ignoring the fact that the mp45 also doesnt actually make 7psi at 1500rpm

the mp45 on a 1.8L with upgraded pulleys still took to about 4K to make 7psi -- finally making 10psi at redline.

Mine makes 5hp per psi, TYVM. :P

The M45 will make 7psi down that low on a 1.6 cause the head flows like crap. It holds 7psi out to 3300 then tapers up to 9.5ish by 3800 and holds that out to redline where it tapers up to 10.5 or so. (Actual log showed 165-166kpa). But I am doing stupid things like a 150mm crank overlay paired with a 62.5mm nose pulley to drive the poor thing way too hard.

Seriously though, for the OP, just go with the MK, only reason I am playing with the supercharger is I got the kit waaaaay to cheap cause it needed some bearings that I could replace myself. I will easilly make money when I sell it.
