I have been running a hardtop on my 91 without the side latches for about 2 years now. I have not even come close to losing my top. It is a little noisy though...

I tightened them and the side latches as so it is on very snug now, but one of the rear latches still doesnt want to lock down all the way.

Do both rear brackets have the plastic liner?? See fuzzy picture.

is it possible that the one could be messed up?? I couldnt get it to lock all the way down.. it seems like it is on, but it isnt as far down as the other side..
