jr, what is the appx $$$ on this shipped? this is something i want to do at one point and time

Definitely interested. I am swapping to a 6-speed next month, and even if I enjoy the 4.1 rear end at 220whp, I doubt I will at 320.

It would be just a little more than last time (stupid dollar )
$330 + freight
It takes 3 months to get them in from Japan

For the record, I had no idea he was going to post this around...

I need the 6 speed / 3.636 speedo unit... was this going to be part of the deal or just the gears?

They come from Japan. It takes 3 months. I don't want any misconceptions. I've already got 20 (prepaid--so don't ask) on order due soon.

Electronic speedo drive is $70 with purchase of 3.63. Mechanical is half that.
We're going to be getting the 19 tooth drive because I figure folks running this gear set have larger than stock tires

I'm sorry I didn't know I wasn't supposed to make a post about it. I have already spread the word on numerous forums and have 3 people ready to go on this!
If you would have told me on the phone not to make a public post about this I wouldn't have but when you told me to find 3-5 people to go on this, I jumped right on it. My locost build is moving much faster than I anticipated and with 350 whp and only weighing around 1450 lbs I need the lowest gears I can get to have any hope of getting traction. Check it out here:

PLUS I just LOVE long gear'd cars. I have lowered the final drive in all the cars I have owned, and it really does make them quite pleasant to drive around town and on the highway. Instead of Shift-Shift-Shift I can just glide around in 2nd gear all day. Then on the highway, lug along in 5th. ITS GREAT! Plus I get better traction in the rain and snowy weather. It is THE FIRST MOD I do to my cars since I did it the first time.

Again Ben. I really am sorry. Do you want me to close down all my threads on the other forums and end this?

I am sure so long as they have $ and they understand what Ben is saying on waiting forever for parts overland from japan he wouldn't be mad otherwise this thread would have been deleted by now. Just my geus here though i could be wrong.

I totally agree with JR, this is a must have, unless your motor needs rebuilding and you car is not running, and your DIY turbo build is only half way through, but once you are tehre, this is a must have and i will only hope another GB will be available at the time that i can actually afford it

If it is $330 for the gears and $70 for the electric speedometer drive (for a 99) as discussed above then count me in.

I've wanted taller gearing for my Miata since the first time I drove it on the highway. Now with the turbo I want it even more. Plus, with gas at $3.60 a gallon, if increases my highway mileage by 3 mpg, it will pay for itself in less than two years.
