I know this is m.netish but what the hell.

Those of you with stiff suspension on your DD, how tight are your hardtop latches? Mine is hopping around a bit with the new FM springs. When I tightened it down it made some creaking noises, just the weather stripping?

 

mine is tight and my springs are stiffer than the FM. I'm using 9/6. It creaks a lot especially entering and exiting parking lots with an incline. I assume the creaking is the top flexing against the body but who knows.

 

Mine are as tight as they can be, it creaks over any little bump/uneven surface.
I have the eibach pro springs

 

Mine is tight as well. However, after the install of the roll bar, almost all of the noises coming from the hardtop ceased.

my **** rattles like its the end of the ******* world with the hardtop on. Latches are tight as ****. Maybe too tight.

 

mine only creaked the first time pulling out of the driveway or any weird bumps requiring articulation. wipe some teflon spray (spray on a rag) along the inside edge of the top where the seal is or wax it real good. might help.
