Hello! This is my first time posting on here as I need some help. I was putting my vvt motor back together and it seems like everything went smooth, but looking back at the engine the head gasket looks a little weird coming out of the side of the block where the rivet is to hold the mls head gasket together. Has anyone seen this before? Just want to make sure I didn’t mess it up somehow with the dowels and alignment.

The first picture was before is right before I put the head on, but I had to remove the head to fit the washers for my head studs so maybe the gasket got misaligned when I took the head off and put it back on?

The second picture shows the weird waviness with the first layer of the gasket, and that’s the only spot with it. I can confirm that the head is sitting even across the block. The head was decked by a reliable machine shop and it its a fresh head gasket.
