That intercooler is a no go, piping with those outlets would be next to impossible.

As for welding the new outlets, no local shop wants the job. I took it to about 5 local shops and have called many more, and they only do industrial jobs. I even took it to my 1st college and the students couldn't weld aluminum and the instructor was "busy". So yeah, unless someone local knows something I don't...they have to stay small :td:

here are some that you might be able to swing

but my suggestion would be to mount that civic rad in the center and route the IC pipe on either side, for a really short run and it opens all the other IC configurations up to you

I dunno.... perhaps if I ran the top outlet from the IC over to the Turbo outlet (after being clocked) and the lower outlet from the IC to the left and upwards to the injector mani ??? I think it would fit. :ugh2:

you could also run the honda radiator horizontally and create an easy V mount. Otherwise Sid's idea of centering the honda rad while running pipes on both sides is good, especially if you can dam up the sides around the rad. (leaves room for things like oil coolers in the future too.

VRTSid 02-08-2007 01:55 PM

totally, I hate the way my IC pipe has to run around my radiator... I would change it today if I could.

MX_Eva 02-08-2007 03:49 PM

Ah I don't look forward to it but yeah, around seems quite not the good, particularly because if you have ps and ac everything is cramped down there and it just doesn't seem ideal. running the pipes under the radiator is and even worse idea, would catch on everything, be longer and more complicated.

Over the top is nice but you never see it because the clearances are crap.

One day V mounting will be for me, or I'll come up with something new.
Be happy you have the option to put it in front though. My G/f with her MR2 has either Side mount or top mount...or if she wants to ruin the one thing that makes it more functional than my miata, trunk mount. None of those are very good options and have crap exposure unlike the typical front mount.

ok decided to do this...went to a few junkyards to try to pick up a probe I/C. The only place i could find one around the VA Beach area was at Oceana salvage and he wanted 100 bucks for it IF i did all the work to rip it out (which i would've) or 150 if he had to wrip it out. he said it was so expensive b/c i'd never find one for less...i pulled up ebay in front of him and he said "oh well".....so i left, without an I/C

I just traded my spare to my mechanic for a stinger welded up:)

I got mine for 30+15s/h on ebay.

Two or three on FleaBay right now !

sorry to bring back a relatively old thread but...

When i go back up to charlottesville here in a few weeks to swap out my differential, im gonna be giving this setup a shot...any body else attempted it since this thread stopped?

I test fit mine on the car. I'm going to run my pipes under the radiator. I know alot of people say its a bad idea, but it fits over the stock undertray. I have never hit my undertray on anything, and I never pull up close to big parking blocks. (The one time I did this lady came FLYING into the space thinking it was clear, then slammed on her brakes because there was this little car there...scary)

I would rather have an around the radiator bar and plate intercooler, but I can't afford to buy much anymore with school. So I'm going to do the best with what I got, unless someone wants to trade?:ugh2:
