How Do You Use Your Turbo Miata?
#22
Originally bought the car to autocross. Been through a few configurations now. It's clean enough to bring to local car meets, but far from show worthy. It seems to draw a lot of Lotus and other Euro owners to it. SCCA's new "CAM" classes (XS) have renewed my interest in autocrossing. After some cooling upgrades this winter, I really want to get back on the big tracks.

99% it's a nice weather daily/road trip machine. Turbo went on three years ago and it's done 16k miles since then. Not a lick of trouble out of it other than the original factory fuel pump dieing last year.
I also take it to the drag strip sometimes and surprise a lot of people with a miata that can do 22 passes in a single night while trapping 100mph

I use mine for something you might call motorsport tourism.
Long drives to distant places to compete in events I haven’t been to before.
I’m entered in this one which is 1600 miles away from me at the end of October:

Unfortunately it’s two states away and the borders are currently closed for pandemic reasons.
