How the hell do I get the high-pressure steering rack hose off?

The one with metal inside of it?
Here's a picture: Attachment 195521 I just completely removed everything having to do with power steering (Pump, reservoir, lines, those things) and I was going to finish up by looping the steering rack lines and that just has to fuck me in the face now. And on a side note, how much does a full PS system go for? |

unscrew it

So it's permanantly connected besides that? In that case I'm going to cut it a couple inches in front of where it screws in and just loop it that way.

17mm wrench that goes to a flare-end nut (exactly like a brake hardline), 10mm bolt on the subframe that goes to a holding bracket.
There are lots of writeups on rack depowering, including how to properly depower and plug sizes so you don't get crap inside the rack. http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/depower.php |

Yeah, either loop the line or use some metric plugs. Don't forget to turn the wheel lock to lock a few times first.

The hose is swaged on the tube with a crimped collar, if that's what you're referring to. It's not removable. I think you have to cut it in order to use the tube nut and the leftover tube.

I sold my pump for 35 shipped. Sometimes it takes a quick tightening before you can back it out.
