Default HVAC Problems?

My buddy just bought a 10th AE Miata with a turbo kit. The problem with HVAC is it only blows to the feet and heat is not very hot, which is not fun in Chicago haha

Here is what the car supposedly has (I haven't seen it in person yet): Voodoo ECU, GT28RS internal wastegate, custom turbo mani, Greddy BOV, Apexi electronics (I assume that's EBC and TT).

Just wanted to ask you guys what we should possibly look for?

The coolant routing (search) from the factor runs cylinder #4 hot (search), reroute (search) solutions can often bypass the heater core (search), or route cooler water to it, which benefits the engine, but not the driver's feet. A cable is attached to the ****, and should be activating a plate to switch between feet/defrost/dash. It's right behind the HVAC, if you spend some time with a phillips screw driver you'll get to it and see if it's working right. The blower is located behind the glove box closer to the pass door, and if the main tube going from that to the hvac box was disconnected, it would seem as though it was only blowing at your feet. search around here and m.net, get in the car with a flash light and look around before posting, then do some more searching and come back with results.

Thanks for the input.

I just checked the car out. The HVAC only blowing to the feet was a simple issue. There is a clip missing (my assumption) on the other end of the cable, so previous owner used scotch tape to secure it I just clipped it back on with the tape and now we can select feet, head, defrost, so it's good. Just need to order a clip for a permanent/unghetto solution.

The heater is still blowing cold though and I have no idea why. I really don't know much about heater core or how it works. However, the coolant lines going it it seem pretty hot. I was reading a bit about it and I think it could be the air mixing flap that's stuck or maybe the clip on that cable is missing as well haha. I'll take a better look at it next time...

The car feels really quick though. Did a quick pull against my GTO and it's almost even.

My mistake, I meant to mention the cables. There should be three cables, heat, position, and recycle/non recycle air. There's one on either side of the HVAC unit (you found one), and one should be by the blower. Look on the other side of the HVAC unit, my bet is the other cable is missing a clip, and you're not actually selecting the heat.
