BTW: As an S2000 owner, I would like to apologize for making miata owners feel inadequate. ;)

No one here is feeling inadequate from lack of torque, we don't own Hondas :bowrofl:

It's funny. This thread is actually pretty far from an Epic Fail. I mean, nothing was destroyed, nobody was hurt, nothing really epic happened. It's not like somebody poured radiator stop-leak into their oil system or anything. Rider 384 just installed a couple of parts backwards (who hasn't?), realized his mistake, corrected it, and made a thread with a funny title.

On the other hand, it's been a while since I've seen this many linkbacks...

Boost it or take it home.

I dont know what is a bigger facepalm, someone thinking an s2000 is superior to a miata or someone thinking s2000s have "no torque"

There are several points to be made in the argument for the miata over the s2k, but the engine is NOT a strong point, if fact its the worst possible example.
The F20C and F22C engines make the B6 and BP look like total and complete shit.

Painfully true...

That is 100% true.

@emac0408 I've fucked up plenty of s2000 at the track on stock power. ;) bling bling.

cueball1 03-15-2010 07:07 PM

You know what's strange about s2000's? I really do like them and think they are a cool car but there have been far fewer of them at track days than I would have thought. The few I've seen have all been supercharged. Usually with a Vortech or Rotrex supercharger. Great chassis and FI motor but I have yet to have one pass me on the track. I'm no great driver, my 94 miata has typical mods, no weight removed, uprated suspension, roll bar, good brake pads on stock brakes, BEGI turbo kit putting down 240hp and running r-comps. You'd think these s2000's with another 10K or more in performance mods should be thrashing me out there.

Not bragging, I truly find it strange. I know I'm not that good, are they really all that bad?!?

There are bolts on the S w/ higher tq specs than the engine can handle. :)

**turotufas & cueball1**

They don't drive the car like they have built it to be driven... because they have too much $ in the it, and they're upside-down in their loans. :P

flounder 03-15-2010 07:47 PM

Ok, ok, I know this is my first post and all but good god man, over 26 thousand hits on this thread in 3 months!!? I guess it's true what they say, incest sells.

Now someone sell me a used turbo kit on the cheap or the flounder is gonna kick a little ass.

My bet is that you see faster S2000s in the next few years as they really go on to second or third owners in real numbers. Most of the people who originally bought S2000s did not really race them. Which is ironic really considering the focus of the car.

+1

What annoys me is all these kids around here driving around on high ass mileage raped multiple times poorly running s2k's with intake/raceheader/exhaust sounding louder than a fucking jet plane always revving on me and smirking over their shoulder at me while having that douchebag ass driving position. With sideways hats and bandanas and all sorts of other stupid shit.

I just look over and

Full_Tilt_Boogie 03-15-2010 09:25 PM

Most of the s2ks around here are just hard parkers

theyre slammed on the ground with stretched tires on big wheels.
Basically "hella-flush"
Most still running stock exhaust, stock everything. Just appearance modifications that ruin the performance of the car.

18psi 03-15-2010 09:28 PM

I know there are some nicely done ones cause I've seen some big power s2000's that are absolutely nasty making 800+ but there's really not nearly as many quick ones like there are miata's.

Miata's there are a bunch of stock ones, a WHOLE bunch of quick/decently fast ones, and a few monsters.

With s2k's its either stock, craptastic, or complete monsters.

If I'm completely honest, I can't really take credit for the name, someone else changed it. Odd progression of this thread, kinda interesting.
