leakdown results are in..... and were perfect...... so I assume that the issue is either the valve seals or the turbo.....

anyone got a same size turbo they can let you borrow?

If it's a turbo seal you should be able to see the oil in the turbo after a few minutes of running since the turbo isn't hot enough yet to burn it off.

nah, Imma rip it off at work tommorow on lunch and check it out

hopefully it's the turbo, because I have a grand or so burning a hole in my pocket to buy a new one.......

ok..... new observations...... really nothing other than carbon in the exhaust side of the turbo that I could tell.....

I've been driving the car this past week or so, and on cold startup the problem doesn't usually arise until the car warms up. No smoke under light acceleration or while driving.

Smoking is only really present when leaving from a stop, and then only at idle or slightly off idle. SOMETIMES it smokes if I rev the car at a dead stop. People must think I'm losing my mind, because I'll leave a light and look back behind me quickly a couple of times to see if there is smoke..... and sometimes there is quite a bit. Seems white to me, but people say it smells like fuel.

more pertinent info, we changed the drivers side charge pipe diameter recently, from 2.5" to 2.25" (enlarging into 2.5" via a coupler at the intercooler). We removed that Cat, and the Hydra wideband due to a breakage of the midpipe (wideband was turned off anyway) Oil is royal purple 20w50, coolant is a 50/50 mix. Koyo 37mm rad with AWR dual fan setup,
160* thermostat.

anything else that I could give as far as info goes....?

Just wondering, how come you switched from 2.5 to 2.25 pipe?

for ease of routing mostly, it matches the compressor outlet diameter also. in addition it makes for a bit less volume the turbo needs to fill in order to push the air to the throttle body
