I need pictures of stock connecting rods.

I'm going home to look at my spare motor that came with the FM Kit. I want to compare the pictures to the rods. If it is forged, I'll use that motor.

If not, I'll swap the turbo.
Thanks.

That motor is so gay, it projects asses on the wall behind it!

Thanks. I hope it is forged. I would so run more boost.
1. What factors involve running more rpms without destroying the motor. I know some guys were talking about 9000 rpms. Rods, bearings & caps. Do you need different cams?

I want to stop at 250-275 hp. That is my goal to acheive. From what I read everything breaks after that. And this is my daily driver.

2. If not forged, I plan on using an earlier post about running low boost at 6psi on a manual controller, and having a toggle hooked up to my MS EBC for 12psi.

What do you think?

BenR 06-03-2008 07:59 PM

I don't think you need 9000rpm for 250- 275hp, unless you plan to run less than 8psi which would be daft.

Yea, I should of been more clear. My current power goals aren't as radical. But I was curious as to what it takes to rap 9000 RPMs.

It would be cool to have a stickey of what to do for different Hp goals. And in what order.

As Ben says, sub 300hp you should not even thing about raising your limiter.
For a safe 9K RPM you need rods, balanced crank, and lots of head/valvtrain work.

Thanks.

Something like this would probably stop alot of newbie questions like mine. I had a better site. They had it broke down into 4 sections, and different hp goals. But the history was deleted on this computer.

It would be cool for some of our vendors to post there products in web links like this. I know most of us are cheap. But I think a it would pull in some attention for the site and vendors.

This is kind of a weird question. There are alot of ways to make any given amount of power especially if you're going to build a motor. It kinda depends on budget, what you have laying around, racing class rules constraints, personal style, ect.
