I think my WG is done :(

I spike to 10 psi and as i apraoch redline it drops to near 7 psi it was fine this morning. :dunno: i hope turning up the MBC helps me fix this. Would anything else cause this besides WG issues?

MiazdaBLUE 06-03-2007 11:24 PM

internal or ex?

magnamx-5 06-03-2007 11:25 PM

internal stock 16g WG before i ran 8 psi with just WG and i had the MBC on there and was making a good 10 psi across the baords before

MiazdaBLUE 06-03-2007 11:30 PM

well...the MBC would cause it to spike because it's just a ball and spring... is this what u are talking about? it spiking and then dropping ?

magnamx-5 06-03-2007 11:31 PM

no before it went to 10 psi and held steady +-1 psi now it is droping down to like 6 psi around redline.

MiazdaBLUE 06-03-2007 11:34 PM

ohhhh...dang... possible BOV leak? if you're boosting more.

magnamx-5 06-03-2007 11:35 PM

no bov in place

MiazdaBLUE 06-03-2007 11:44 PM

if it were Externally gated i'd say take the MBC off and adjust it to 6-7 psi and then put the BC on to adjust it up to 10.... BUT lol

are u using a bleeding MBC?

i don't know, how often do wg springs go bad?

How is spool? Exhaust leak could cause this.

spool is good here is a log. Ive had exhaust leak i get boost the same as before but it does not carry for shit.

Kelly 06-04-2007 01:50 AM

Its probably from not having an intercooler and no proper crankcase ventilation system.

magnamx-5 06-04-2007 01:58 AM

 that was just mean. :vash: :crx: ;)

jayc72 06-04-2007 02:11 AM

My experience with an exhaust leak from turbo to manifold limited my boost to about 7psi and spool sucked a bit.

Braineack 06-04-2007 08:45 AM

that's why i asked if you had an open wastegate line, your boost didn't seem to spool like it should....try a helper spring and see how it reacts.

but you're dropping to 5psi, the actuator must be toast...

magnamx-5 06-04-2007 09:15 AM

i was criuseing and then going into spool to make sure my tip in was right and most of the time i was launching the car, only 1 or twice did i let it caost down and start sub 2K rpm and see if the spool was the issue.

magnamx-5 06-04-2007 10:14 AM

well as of 2 minutes ago i am thinking it is the clutch my other WG feels about the same and i even ran with No line on the WG and it still dropped after 4K rpm. So i will bleed it later and hopefully that solves the problem :( god damn ACT extreme with 4 puck unsprung disk should be tougher than that damn you prostreet.

SloS13 06-04-2007 10:17 AM

with an internal gate, hook up a line to it and blow in it. If no air leaks, its proably still good. if the diaphragm is ripped, you will have a leak

Braineack 06-04-2007 10:20 AM

i highly doubt it's your clutch...

whats weird I'm looking at your datalogs, and i guess maybe your 4th gear pulls from down low your wastegate hits and maintains 8psi....but with your gun it through the gears it looks like you are spiking a 8-9psi and dropping to 4.

If it was your clutch then the RPMs would rapidly increase, your rpms are still very linear.

magnamx-5 06-04-2007 10:25 AM

yes but i totally disconected the WG from vaccum source i tried it with my hand pump and it takes 12psi to actuate just fine. I think it is only slipping enough to unlaod me becouse the power falls off with the boost. And if my WG was shot internally i would never hit 10 psi. Like i said i will bleed it unless there would be a reason my motor wouldn't put out 10 PSI towards redline?

Braineack 06-04-2007 10:33 AM

did you drive that way? how did it react then?
