Are you sure your flapper is closing/seating all the way? If it's stuck partially open, you can spike to 10+ but settle down to 4.

yes i drove with a disconnected and the WG boost line. The WG is closed and the spool is fine.
whats it look like disconnect? making tons of boost?
nope the same makes 10 then drops
wire it closed...make sure the forces cant pop the wastegate flapper open, then see what it does....
K i am no thinking it was a mechanicall clutch issue more of a hydraulic issue. i have an extra 2 ft of clutch line from where i destroyed to stock flex line. but i will try this and log it. thanks guys. ill post up later in the day if it works
I have a bunch of 16g actuators laying around, you can have one for like $10
well i wired it shut and still no go so i dont believe it is the actuator anymore. thanks nester. It is either the clutch or a leak somewhere. but only under high boost and it resets itself once it goes back down this sucks :td:
wait a sec ... if your clutch is slipping, there are only two reasons that I can think of: 1) the clutch medium cannot physically hold or 2) your clutch pedal is not fully disengaging, as in it is set too high. A "spongy" pedal will only make disengaging of the clutch feel wierd and not effect how well it holds once engaged since the clutch is a spring that is unloaded when we press on the pedal.
have you ever adjusted the pedal? when i was trying to get my ACT to disengage more north i got it to a point where it would only slip in high boost after a short trip, then it would slip all the time in any boost. adjusted the pedal back and it never slipped again.
i ajusted it on the install i was having trouble getting anyengagement before pedal is firm clutch has 100 or so miles on it. it should be good for 300 crank torque./
yeah i doubt the clutch cant hold....might be an adjustment problem....
see: https://www.miataturbo.net/forums/sh...ght=clutch+rod |
thanks that might help
fwiw, i just adjusted the rod back...i think shorter (cant remember) and all was good.
well i did it and now i spike 15 psi but it was better on for more adjustment and bleeding and maybe it will be ok i hope i didn't glaze the clutch we shall see.
i would take the MBC out of the loop while you figure out what the problem is. Do you think you might just have a semi-loose coupler or BOV?
No bov took the turbo appart and jb welded the compressor together vs silicone we shall see.
uhhh what?!
It might have been from when i clocked and reset my turbo the silicone could be blowing out once the boost gets past the oring. The first turbo i did this way, i used alot more silicone and no leaks on this one it might have been leaking 2 scooops and i went over the entire system even drove it with no brake booster hooked up and still got the same results. Then upon looking at the compressor my dad commented it looked like the silicone was getting blown out and sure enough it did not look normal so on goes the JB weld in the morning we shall see if it worked.
we'll see.
