Seriously. Buy Samnavy's. He's asking $5500.

If you don't have the money yet, stop looking until you do. Cars will be out there. Now to April is the best time to buy. It's the off season for convertibles.

Agreed. I wasn't exactly looking when I found this car. Scouts honor . I just happened to talk to the guy and he threw the offer out there. But now he's expecting me to buy it... aaaaand I'm not gonna. But for now, its back to squatting on my savings acount. I would LOVE to have Samnavy's car. Hear that Sam? And, I've gotten offers from a few people now (some tentative) so it's nice to have options. Also, I'm getting prospects on a second job. It'll be a part time thing for extra cash until I pick up on it. Things are looking up!

944obscene- sorry that the situation went down the way it did. There are lots of other miata options......don't waste your time on that car or that dude. He is an ******* for driving uncourteously on the track and got what he deserved.

Not in that video: I had followed him for two laps, running him down in every turn and braking zone. He made eye contact with me, but wouldn't let me pass. I don't put up with that **** and went side by side just to get by the the dumbass. He did that to me, skirt, and gary@trackdog. Gary and I ran his **** down and thankfully, skirt didn't and captured his brilliance on video.

My buddy, rick, captured some pics of from the miata@hallet event. HERE is his album and HERE is the pic of white car right after it hit the wall.

Well its nice to have this kind of support. This is the kind of stuff I have in mind when I join a forum board. People that will actually help someone out. Even call them a dumbass when they (I) are (am) being a dumbass. As far as this situation is concerned, I am happy to have this much support (support meaning aid, information and guidance).

I'm just glad I found out this way instead of four or five months down the road, when I get an alignment done on the car, or worse- experience a part breaking while on the highway or at Hallett myself.

Is that a style bar in that thing?

You'd think you'd want something more substantial at the track in case you run out of talent and can't keep it shiny side up...

944. At this point just let the guy know you know. Something like "saw a vid of your wreck at Hallett on youtube. Are you ok? I'm sorry but I'm not really interested in buying a rebuild. Guess I'll keep looking." Just be done with it. Clean, clear and courteous. Be the bigger man. You are still shopping, you can use the Karma.

I noticed the style bar in the video too. I was hoping it might be the boss frog double hoop but that picture makes it clear it's just "stylin". Douchebag. I can't believe tracks let anyone run a convertible without a real bar. All the clubs in my area have pretty strict rules about that. Guess Texas is still the wild west.

Of course seeing him do that damage in the tire wall makes me cringe. I'd be hating myself if, or when, I damage my car like that. When you are pushing limits that is always a possibility. Geez my wife would be pissed.

I'll give him a call. Let him know I found a vid of the car. Yes that is a style bar. Nothing more. Also, his NA was only 1 of 2 Miata's. He also has an NC. WHY NOT THE NC? j/k

And the race took place at Hallett Racepark in Oklahoma. That's the track I mentiond earlier. Its out by Jennings OK IIRC? I've been a number of times, but can't think of it ATM. Its about 45 minutes out from Tulsa, on the way to Stillwater. The turn he lost it on is known as the bitch. Guess why they call it that? Look up bike crashes and Hallett and you'll find a number of those too. Nasty turn if you get loose or agressive.
