Incorrect readings from temp sensor? Or is it my Link?
I have a Laser Pyrometer at my shop. My stock temperature gauge doesnt move and at a maximum doesnt reach over 1/2 way on a 15 min drive at redline(not under boost). BUT my link says my temperature is at 111 degrees C! The Pyrometer says its at 175* at a metal thermostat that I added when I did a coolant re-route and At the hottest place 200*F at the spacer I made to hold my temperature sensors at the back of the engine. Even if the temp sensors were reading this it would still be less then 100* C... I dont understand, and its causing my link to shut down the power and retard the timing to cool it down.
Also I am having a problem with my fans. they are running in parallel and through my Link, it was set to come on at 97*C and I turned it down to 80*C, They dont come on until I am parked now and they never really came on unless I was parked also. Any thoughts? Thanks Matt |
Nearly impossible to decipher the order of assembly. Which side of the tstat are your senders located on? all on the same side? see what I'm getting at?

Not running with a Tstat. Both temp sensors are located behind the engine and at that point with a pyrometer it reads 200*F at hottest point. On my Link it says 114*C and my temp gauge has barely moved if at all. At my tstat housing(currently empty) the temperature of the coolant is 185*F (pyrometer).
