Interest in Elise seat brackets?
Hey all. So I'm trying to gather interest in my bracket design for a set of elise seats. I'd started this at MS.com, and moved to CR, and am bringing it here too, trying to get enough interest to actually make these. I'm doing one-offs right now, making them from scratch and piece by piece on my own, and if I get enough people interested I can outsource the welding and not have it be a big deal, with me only cutting and shaping the metal.
Here's the jump to the CR post, and then here is the MS post, where i started.

Just a few shots, here they are in my car:
I've got nothing to sell right now, this is just a way for me if there is enough interest to go ahead and make a bunch. Basically, I don't want a steel collection in my garage. So, no commitment of money right now, and please don't tell me your ready to pay, as I've nothing to sell at the moment.
I'll get updated pics later this weekend hopefully, I'm working on the final version right now, and I'm about done. Further in to the trans tunnel and further back with provisions for boss-frog seat belt adapters...
Thanks,
Chance91 AkA Nick

If I could score those seats, then yes I'd like to have some. Why don't you make a set for me, hold on to them for 3-5 years, and when I get the Lotus seats you can sell them to me then?

Price is supposed to be $125/set, plus actual shipping to your location. Per set of 4 plates/2 fronts, so for two seats total. I might have to run it up to 150/set because we are outsourcing the welding since I can't handle the volume. I dunno yet as the final decision hasn't been made, but I'll probably be doing this. I've almost 15 ppl interested which is bout good enough IMO.

Why they do not have the holes for shoulder straps in them from the factory is beyond me.... If they did, those seats would be a dream come true. They are far more comfortable then the Cobra Clubman 2's I have now. Do you know if they'll fit with the door bars?
Just helping push the seats and your possible brackets

Mmmhmmm.
One of our guys is putting these in when he gets his set. (one of the only guys I'm hand making them for)
Also, a few people have these for the seats without the nice harness holes from the factory.

I'll either go Exige or use the grommets eventually, but as of now, the Probax seats I use are freakin sweet. Pretty comfy and no pressure points like the MSM ones, and they have good lateral support compared to OE.
I dunno if they will fit with door bars since I don't have any, but I'd bet yes. And if they didn't I could make a set so they did. There is a lot more clearance on either side of this seat than an oem one, I'd say about 1inch on either side more, and probably even more still, and my estimate is conservative. I've been considering heavily making my own set of door bars for my Boss frog bar to fit everything. I'd make them lower than most so that entry/exit isn't affected.

MTMS just got itself a band saw, a welder, grinder, and a few other goodies for the Garage. Woo. about 1/2 way to an actual starter shop.
Some pics of the very first ones off the line. Primed em so they don't rust on the way. Also, bag of bolts for installation.
Looking forward to the review in a few days....

I got my pair for $500 picked up, but I was lucky. Usually about 500-800 for elise seats (probax go for more) and sometimes up to 1000, Exige ones you'll be looking at 1000-1500 typically, I usually see them at 1200. They are sort of hard to get ahold of since there aren't a lot of Loti out there. But they do come out of the car often because these guys apparently love Carbon fiber seats.. almost everyone who takes them out gets these ridiculous tillet carbon seats.

Chance91's bracket design lives here. I thought future searchers might benefit.
