One of the most getto setups ive seen in along time. Discuss

disturbedfan121 01-14-2009 11:32 AM

what motor is that?

BradC 01-14-2009 11:35 AM

edit - n/m

the position of that shifter looks downright painful. i've seen some weird setups on older vw's, but that pretty much matches anything i've seen from that crowd.

levnubhin 01-14-2009 11:42 AM

lol wtf?

no really, what motor is it.

I say buy that shit and overhaul it!!!! I wonder what tranny & rear it has.

Saml01 01-14-2009 11:52 AM

I wanna say Volvo.

y8s 01-14-2009 11:52 AM

can you check your oil through the eyeball vent?

m2cupcar 01-14-2009 11:54 AM

What's so ghetto about it? The stick shift? That's all I see. They did a damn good job on the motor mounts and pulley bracket IMO. Yes, the firewall mod could've been painted, but I don't think they were interested in pretty.

leatherface24 01-14-2009 11:56 AM

my guess is that its a ford motor. its a fwd motor for sure. that shifter was hanging on nothing as the tranny and read end was removed. looking at it, it had a supercharger on it at some point also.

Splitime 01-14-2009 12:02 PM

supercharged Ecotec?

leatherface24 01-14-2009 12:02 PM

thats what im thinking^^^

Splitime 01-14-2009 12:06 PM

Custom supercharger work... so safe to assume it isn't a factory SC motor?

Looks to be chain drive?

Composite one piece valve cover?

I'm really going through motor ideas here... not finding visual matches... its annoying :p

levnubhin 01-14-2009 12:09 PM

Dosen't look like and ecotec

that giant "can" on the intake side of the cam cover should be a giveaway

Braineack 01-14-2009 12:31 PM

I'm going with a ford focus motor.... pic to follow.

valve cover (besides that odd port), coolant port, and two pullies match perfectly.

intake side is on the driver's side, no? i see injector holes.

and I think that "can" is oil filler hole.
