yeah, I knew that. And agree the "can" is the filler hole- I meant that finding another cam cover with that giant filler hole and the vent port (pcv) right behind it would be good clues.
I think Scott is right on this one. All the bosses/casting going down the intake side on the head and block look the same, coolant port...and so on. So I guess you win that style rear finish panel? :giggle: |
I agree on the Focus motor, it was one of my suspicisions. Now about that shifter. Is it possible they used the Focus tranny?

I don't see it being the focus motor.
Wrong front chain guide covers. Including lack of Front(side) engine mount location Aluminum vs composite VC No on VC ignitor mount (reading the X shape piece as that) This is annoying. |
not to mention the totally different ignition trigger wheel.

May not be the same application, but it looks like the same engine. Check out the similarities from on to the other. And there is a boss on the jy motor for the fwd mount.

So what rwd application was that motor put into?
That entire front cover appears to be part of the front mount picture on the fuckus motor. |

there's a 2.0L, 2.3L, 2.5L and 1.8L of this motor...gotta be one of them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratec_engine |

Modifications: SCT X-Cal2 MarcyMotorsport tune, MarcyMotorsport CAI, Borla 2.5" Flex-Back exhaust, Cosworth cams/intake manifold/throttle body/race header and flex pipe. 87 octane, 4th gear pull. not a bad little motor....like I said, buy it and refurbish. |

I've got a 98 ranger with the 2.5 which is very similar to the 2.3L if I'm not mistaken. Got a volvo T3 laying around and I've been thinking about it. Heater-core is right where the downpipe would go so it might need a crazy manifold or something.
It's a total pig on the interstate. |
That's exactly what the torque curve on the Triumph triples looks like, flat as a friggin' table. There's something nice about a motor that pulls the same everywhere in the rev range, but it still doesn't justify this monstrosity.

Not bad????? That's a fucking torque line if I ever saw one. Amazing.
Without the IM it seems they suffer a lot of torque drop in higher RPMs....but really all the work is done on that conversion...would be something to consider as a funny/fun project/track car. |
Those is no rubber isolator on those mounts huh?
anyway, you could pull the custom mounts and sell them on M.net for a few bucks. After a wire wheel and cheap paint job of course. |
That looks awesome.
That is serious fab work there. I love seeing shit like that. Someone just put in a totally different engine. Thats awesome.. |
