I did sell the ms Scott :( it's ok though cause I'm not going for more than 180 rwhp and I know I can get that with just a few bolt on upgrades. I ordered a bigger I.C. and then I'll get the fm intake kit, downpipe, mid pipe, 02 signal mod, do the tps mod and that's it really.
How about if we start a bet?
I say 2 months before you turn up the boost and start messing with it

I say a few weeks.

Do you really want to see pics of Hustler's sister with her manly biceps, flabby abs, wife beater, greased hair, steel toe boots and wallet on a chain?!? She and Hustler go out trolling for the same chicks. With the track day mentioned there seems to be more competition between them than just who picks up the prettiest girls!
Actually it would be cool to have a sister into cars too. There aren't a lot of women showing up at track days around here but the few that do generally drive well.

Congrats. Your VR looks clean. My VR is covered in snow and dirt. :(
Happy to share my maps if you ever get a good exhaust, big injectors, and Megasquirt.
First thing you should do is rip out the windblocker / rear speakers. The windblocker doesn't do anything and the rear speakers aren't stereo. So basically it is all just extra weight.

Nice choice! I think VR has got to be the best looking red I have ever seen... esp. when it's freshly waxed.
With a dp, exhaust, intercooler, tb elbow, intake piping and a boost controller you can make over 200rwhp. Anything after that and you'll need some engine management. I've seen several Exedes on mazda-speed for like $700 w/harness. Or just do a MS. The stock turbo is "ok" for ~200rwhp, but the god damn ECU is the fun killer and forces boost threshhold seen really high and somewhat laggy/peaky. Another route, albeit more expensive, is to toss the turbo/manifold and get any other 1.8L manifold and a T25. You could have jumped on the fixable manifold I just sold
Get some H&R "race" springs from TireRack too, it'll have a nice ride height and the spring rates are better. I bet you'll eventually find the stock rear gear annoying too...tome for a 3.9 or 3.6
