I bought a 2004 Forester XT that had been rolled and totaled. I'll be parting out the major remains (tranny, diffs, exhaust, cats, etc) so let me know if you need anything. The body is almost totally destroyed, and I'm keeping the ECU, wiring harnesses, turbo, etc.,

Would it be possible to put the Subie 2.5 in a MIata?

Yes. If you remove the passenger's seat and turn the engine sideways so that the flywheel is facing down, it fits quite nicely. It's necessary to remove the intake manifold and accessories first, or the door won't close.

I need the passenger side timing belt cover, if you're parting out the engine. That has VVT on the intake cam, right?

I am not parting the engine. I'm using it in a new car that I'm building.

The engine, turbo, ECU, and wiring harnesses are mine. Any other mechanical parts that anyone wants I will part out.

I have (and don't need) the stock flywheel and clutch, starter, tranny, rear diff, airbags, steering assy (all of it), some of the ancillary electronics, suspension (though it's probably all bent to hell), brakes (master, slave, ABS unit), A/C compressor and evap (condenser was killed), P/S pump and lines, the whole exhaust aft of the turbo, basically everything that isn't listed above and wasn't destroyed in the crash. (It was an end-over tumble, so both the front and rear ends got destroyed.)

Interior is already gone except for the two front seats and the steering wheel.

You do know that Soobys use horizontally-opposed engines, right? This engine is 32" wide. It wouldn't even come close to fitting between the suspension.

How much to "borrow" your header/up pipe for 1-2 weeks? I know you're using it but not sure if it's able to be loaned or not.

EDIT: nevermind they are easy enough to remove on the car, i'll use my own. I want to build a jig of it.
